Letter from Richard

Dear All,

No doubt by now, you will be aware that life for everyone in our community is being significantly changed by the virus. Life at St George’s is no different. From today, all services at church have been suspended both on Sunday and during the week. Church will be open every day from 11.00am until 1.00pm for private prayer. There will be books and music available but not candles (unless I am there) for safety reasons.

We want to make sure, as best we can, that no one is left feeling abandoned. We are all going to be more isolated and many of us will experience times of loneliness but we should all try to remember that we are part of the church community here in Forest Hill/Catford/Sydenham and also a part of the church world wide. We are being prayed for. We will pray for each other.

If you know of anyone in our community who is experiencing difficulties of any sort, please be in touch with me. If you need help, say so.

In the coming days we will begin to try to communicate as effectively with as many as possible.

Do pass on this message to anyone you know who might not be receiving emails.

Remember that favourite quote from Mother Julian of Norwich:

“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

I like this one too:

“God loved us before he made us; and his love has never diminished and never shall.”

Speak soon,

love Richard.
